The First Phase of the Roman Catholic Church.

The Church.

This page is strictly based  on what  the church ( Roman Catholic Church ) as the exclusive body did when her foundations  were stood and entrenched in her new founded place called "Mariannhill".  This will be argued by focusing on the late 19th century and by looking forward to early 20th century. In short, I would consider a period -1882 - 1930s.

The church was found and named by Father Francis in 1882.   How would be his work if he was alone? He did that work of founding a church with the help of Trappists. They were from Europe (  more details in the page of the church origin).  The church became the first movement of missionaries to introduce because they came with a purpose of preaching the Evangelism.  They wanted to convert the Natives into Christianity. That is why I referred this movement as the Church Revolution.

More land was bought along Umhlatuze so that church would find more space to run its work.  Father Francis who stood from 1882 to 1892 together with other missionaries founded a way that would make a church to be popular, attractive to the natives.  That would make the spreading the Word of God to be easier and accepted to the natives. The church didn't only preach the gospel , many activities were introduced to the people around the church.  African boys were employed in order to led oxen. They were given some  sort of payment for that.  As the result church increased as children came in numbers to the church.

"African boys led the oxen. They were paid for that job. Children increased in the church yard".1That was a good plan that was done by missionaries in order to get more people attending the church.  Their dreams became true. Church Revolution in South Africa to the place named Mariannhill in Durban   became possible. Many historians as  I believe, believe that , that revolution had something behind. It was not only about preaching the Word of God, but it was to do with the maintenance of Europe supremacy in Africa.
