Questions I Received from Fundamentalists...
Sola Scriptura:
Q. Sola Scriptura is the true doctrine, tradition
is false doctrine.
A. Obviously you did not read the
many files on this website showing the falseness of this belief. I will have to
ask you a few questions.
What scripture did Abraham use?
Show me the
verse in the Gospels that Paul refers to in Acts 20:35? You can't find it in the
Gospels because it is not written there. It is what Paul heard that the Lord had
said. It was passed on to Paul and he in turn was passing it on to others, by
'word of mouth' or tradition.
What did the people use as a basis for SS from
the founding of the Church until the Council of Carthage in 397? What did the
population masses use to support SS from then until the time of the printing
press in 1450? Was Scripture plentiful and affordable for this 1000 + years?
Is SS Scriptural? If you think it is, show me the
verse after you read the SS files on this website.
Is SS historical? Show me
the proof that it even existed before Martin Luther, and then show me how people
could practice it when they had no Bibles.
People who believe in the false
doctrine of Sola Scriptura, reject tradition, and are guilty of all the Bible
verses which admonish us for taking away from the Word of GOD.
Q. Show me your Bible references for the
Immaculate Conception.
A. Obviously you are a Bible
only believer and I will have to say that everything is NOT
written in the Bible, and the Bible even says this in John 20:30, and
21:25. Do you honestly believe that Jesus Christ was conceived in a sinful womb?
Are not GOD and sin mutually excludable? Would GOD, under any circumstances be
joined to anything defiled? "But your iniquities have
divided between you and your GOD, and your sins have hid his His face from you
that He should not hear." Isaiah 59:2...
GOD was very exacting as
to how man should make the Ark of the Covenant, just to carry His Word written
on stone tablets, Ex 25:8-40. It had to be perfect and no one could even touch
it and live, 2Sam 6:2-8. Do you really think He would do less for the second
Ark, the Blessed Virgin Mary, who carried His Incarnate Word?
However,
it is Scriptural. If you will read Luke 1:28, "And when the Angel had come
to her, he said, 'Hail full of Grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women'." Now what does 'full of Grace' mean?
Can a sinful body be 'full of Grace'? I do not think so. Remember, John the
Baptist had not appeared on the scene yet to start the sacrament of Baptism for
original sin. If GOD in his infinite power could create the entire universe out
of nothing, don't you think he could create one little Jewish girl without the
stain of original sin?
'Explain John 14:15-17 and 26. The Holy Spirit
will dwell forever with the Church which Jesus Christ founded, and He will teach
His Church all things. So if we already 'know all things by Scripture and are
complete' , as fundamentalists would have us believe, then why do we need the
Holy Spirit to teach us? By the way, is the Holy Spirit reading from a book or
is He speaking to His Church?
Q. What makes you think the Church which Jesus
Christ founded in Matt 16:18 is the Catholic Church?
A. O.K., if it is not the Catholic Church, then please tell me
which Church it is? Keep in mind what Jesus Christ Himself said in Matt 28:20,
"I will be with you ALL days even until the end of the
world." He Himself said His Church will be here until the end of time and
we all know that whatever Jesus Christ said is the truth because He IS truth. The Church He founded has to be here today. Can you
trace your church back to 33 A.D.?
Q. I have heard that the Catholic Church has had some bad Popes. Is that true?
A. We have had 265 Popes starting with St. Peter
up until John Paul II. There were about 6 of them who were apparently not good
choices. That is a ratio of about 1 to 43. Remember Jesus Christ Himself had a
ratio of only 1 to 11 when He chose the 12 Apostles. So I would say that Jesus
Christ taught us that we would not be perfect everytime in making our choices.
Comparing the ratios, I would say we are doing quite well, wouldn't
you?
