Later I will archive it , when time permits.</div> <bR> <bR> <div>  <A NAME="top"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></div> <div>  In view of the Congressional hearings that are being conducted to appropriate funds for such as SETI , I would like to encourage you to support this endeavor , and would like you reason the why of it , as it is more far reaching than the surface aims indicate.</div> <bR> <div>  <B>Life in the Cosmos ;</B></div> <div> <B> </B>There is intelligent life in the universe, this can be proved if we use ourselves as a measurement, we are here, and myself being a God fearing person , can read and comprehend that we are not as smart as God , or have a "need to know" all that he has done, also I understand , that as the need to know comes, we will find out. On a sterile aspect , held be many academics , and none to little agnostics , the ratio of planetary bodies that are present in our own little Milkyway, brings into play mathematical probabilities of life being on some of them of some sort.</div> <bR> <div> <B>Cross Technologies ;</B></div> <div> <B> Seti </B>is simply the Search for Extraterrestrial Life using know means of communicational techniques, in the large part electromagnetic transmission (Radio), though some resent experiments are in the light range, and I applaud you for this deviation. The latter brings me to the real meat of the issues surrounding the need for funding. It is likely that we are unique in using Electromagnetics for a medium of communication , no counting the sound-producing aspect, as our own terrestrial diversity shows , we have animals that communicate by any number of methods, some by manipulating "Light" in their bodies such as the Cuttlefish, others have a type of ESP, and then others are adept at reading minute body movements, which WE do to some extent subconsciously. Some animals use subtonics for communication, such as the Whale, and some have a complex set of whistles , such as the Dolphin, some use chemical signals such as insects. The point is that if we encountered , at this time, an intelligence that utilizes a different form of passing meaning to each other, we likely won't , at the current state of understanding, be able to communicate with them, that is what part of the research at SETI is about.</div> <div>  </div> <div>  The methods that need to be developed for listening is far too narrow at the present time, not counting the means of communicating through scientific methods. A resent experiment I had the privilege to read part of , is on using particle separation, where once the particle is halved it remains connected , my understanding of this is a tunnel is formed , call it what you will , but the fact remains is the halves remain connected , no matter how far they are separated, what is done to one side is instantly duplicated on the other, and according to the little I understood of the article , the particle can be separated across the universe and remain connected at some sub-energy level , instantly altering through stimulus so both halves remain locked together (A very interesting communications device method if applied ) The latter would open up the Remote Operations Vehicle (ROV) usefulness , as no two particles are the same, and allow VR (Virtual reality ) operation in real time across our Solar system. Considering we are aiming at making Mars ours, and eventually sending some folks to be Martians, we need the means to accomplish this, the particle research is one of the keys. Also the latter could very well be a method of communications used by ET, and once understood better, perhaps tapped into for cross intelligence (Spying), on the particle links.</div> <bR> <div> <B>No one research</B> regimen can accomplish what is needed to advance Science at a reasonable rate to keep up with our needs, if we are to get a return for our moneys. The SETI project is a jumping off place , and an opportunity to engage several Sciences at once , provided it isn't locked into some sort of Political morass over piddly semantics , not intentionally , rather in an attempt to make the buck go farther, but like all things can likely bog down .  Understand , there is a necessity to have accountability, but it can bog down like Nasa has experienced, not counting the Scientists have to be politically minded, taking away from their research capabilities, and holding them to using sub-technologies to accomplish their goals, not counting ,using older equipment that has been modified, such as their Computer systems, which are barely above a 486 class, when the data handling technologies are sporting 1.5 geg processors and higher, it is incredulous that it is not available to NASA, there is something wrong with this picture, and likely includes all of our Space technologies, if the Computer systems are a yard stick, and we owe NASA an apology and our respect for having to operate under such conditions.</div> <bR> <div> <B>I encourage you to press your representatives in congress to allow this bill to pass, as it is a stepping off point to the needed technologies we are going to have to implement to have a future.</B></div> <div> <B> Remember , being a politician is a full time specialized job, better left to the ones who are adept at , and trained for it , it can not be conducive to good science, when the leading Scientists are more worried about having to be a good politician in order to glean funding for the needed project, while attempting to follow the harsh regimens of being a Scientist, this applies to the Academic community as well, I imagine many a tenured teaching Scientist has considered throwing it out the window to get "Back in the saddle", but the overpowering economics forbids it. Sigh !!! , what we have to give up , and sacrifice , just to live.</B></div> <bR> <div> <B>Kyle Gosnell</B></div> <bR> <div> <B>Super Computers</B><B> <A NAME="super_computers"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="1x1.gif" HEIGHT="1" ALIGN="bottom" WIDTH="1" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" ></A></B></div> <div> <B> There is a super computer out there that has to be taken down as well, as it appears it is used to agitate the terrorists, who in turn , agitate the rest of the world , the key came with the resent WORM that came just after the attack, I have suspected this scenario for some time, as only a Super Computer could crack the codes so quickly , plus write the complex program associated with it to achieve the level of harm it has done . I take a chance it will be used to take down this site, but , at least you have been warned. There are programs that would allow any High-School student to put together an intermittent Super Computer setup , such as the wonderful setup used for SETI (Please don't associate SETI with this, as they are an asset to the whole world) , the point is , a super computer can be setup in a matter of hours by anyone, and taken back down, making it difficult to find or detect, all that would be needed is a storage master for the basic data, found in any major institution around the world, the basic setup may very well be mobile, and is setup at various places, the only hindrance is data storage , to initiate the primary goal of the setup, with the current technology  available, it would not be difficult. Some of you are aware how events can be manipulated to appear to come from a totally different souse, as well as the ability of the "Squeaky Wheels" to manipulate the press, using a Super Computer, it would be easy to set up a future agenda, and how to set each goal to achieve it timely.
