The Moon
We have a mystery , why doesn't the Moon rotate faster? The mass seemingly is there, but the speed should throw it out of orbit , as it is moving too fast for the size , if it has proportionate mass. Plus it is not rotating , in the sense it rotates too slowly to have the correct mass, (I posted some material on logical rotational aspects in Geo Stress) again the Speed of orbit should have ejected it if it does, so what gives? Is it possible the core is super porous ? It can't be hollow, as the quakes would have torn it apart by now. The instruments sent to the Moon show some Quake activity , negating any possibility of large hollow areas , like super bubbles when it cooled, unless there is a material in the core so strong , it is reinforced somehow. I don't have the readings to make even a reasonable guesstimate as to it's correct mass , as simply measuring it , will not do.
I would suggest someone , do a measurement , mass to orbital ratio, because it can be done with small payloads , like the shuttle , then upsize the numbers for the Moon , and see what size and mass it "should" be , the clue is the Rotational speed , it simply should be rotating faster, according to speed, and size , unless there is a porous material within it , creating a tiny mass signature of about half it's size . Perhaps there is a mass of unknown new material within it, lighter than anything we have encountered , that would deserve special investigation , and on the other end of the scale,. a super hard material, that has massive bubbles in it, again warranting investigation. I have read the theories on it being hit by a meteor or something, that caused it to slow it's rotational speed , but the speed of orbit cannot be explained away in this manner , once thought about, something is very strange going on. Once the centrifugal speed is realized, as it a product of balancing in an arc ( also published in Geo Stress, as the Arc is the product of the altering force , requiring an attempt at balance via rotation, as all objects will seek their center of balance in free space, once an altering force is applied, rotation must occur in order to balance itself as long as the arc is applied in this case, rotation around another body), the slow rotation can only mean less mass , to have it any other way , would have caused massive Heating , and we would be seeing active Volcanos.
The material on the surface , seems to be normal volcanic rock , plus the dust of eons , so what has happened to the core, is it an object that was captured first, and debris was collected by it to give it the present size? , maybe the material of a collision on the Earth , as was theorized , however there appears to be a low mass present to allow such a slow rotational period.
To sum it up , there is not enough surface activity to account for the rotational period, nor internal heating evidenced, also the orbital velocity is too great for the normal mass of an object of that size.
Conclusion; it must have a very low density core, perhaps a Bauxite, or Magnesium type light weight metal ore meteor , or simply a large area of magma cooled and became super porous, before collecting the material we see as the surface.
But it would warrant closer inspection , and deserve a mining core attempt , as the possibility of finding a new light weight metal, is just too good to pass up.
