The Visitor
Plant mutations at Russian Tundra "Visitor" explosion site
I have , I think, I have resolved part of the mutations around the site, as it involves the removing of the protective Ion layer, at least in my own mind . Whether it was a discharge of Plasma , due to a CME , coupled with "other " stimuli , or a "visitor" is not the issue, rather lets focus on the mutations found very abundant at the site.
Which ever , or however the event .
The ozone layer would have been disrupted over a large area , longer for an explosion of a material object, less for a Planetary discharge , due to vaporized particles, interfering with the formation of ionized particles , effectively opening the door for spatial radiation. Perhaps you have already taken this aspect into consideration, but it would seem specific finger prints would be present , to show this part of the puzzle , excessive mutation of Plant life in the area is one (Which has been determined by Russian Scientists). I would think certain minerals would be effected as well, and certain natural occurring life forms would have been eradicated, and their fossils could be found in the mosses, and others such as dead trees that have been preserved.
From observation of photographs, the naturally occurring breakdown of wood , has been hindered, this is a clue to the likely die off . I would test Trees in other areas not effected by this phenomenon , and simply compare the makeup.
There should be a marked reduction of organisms that use the life forms for food at the Russian site, and a much lowered amount of cellulose eating bacteria, as this would have most effected the lower life forms , either enhancing them, or eradicating them, depending upon makeup, but as the trees are still standing in the epicenter, I would bet on the natural cellulose users being depleted.
Before disregarding the possibility of a Plasma discharge, consider the possibility of enough dust particles being in the right place at the right time, as Space born dust must have a charge. I have listened to many various explanations of a Visitor causing this event, but not any seem solid enough to go with , though I applaud the measuring of the angle of the event . I use the Plasma discharge as one possibility, because the dust at the surface of the atmosphere would have been broken down to its component molecules , and perhaps even farther, and Gravity did the rest, as well as a lack of a charge, seeking a charge, to fill the gap blown away , a definite potential negative charge, and likely was an attractant for the broken down dust , holding the Ionized process off for a lengthily time.
In the end , presenting researchers with a dilemma of the process, all would have caused a reflective bubble out in space, lighting up the sky.
However , the electrical aspect would leave a trail unlike any other, if it's known what to look for, as it would have polarized certain chemicals in the Wood, when it flashed, and considering the Trees were killed by the process, I would look for polarized iron-like particles in the latter to lay this aspect to rest, also the permafrost should hold some turned molecules if this is the causation , and all in the angle of flash , which you have the angle already.
The above is not meant to lecture anyone, rather to add a piece to this interesting puzzle, using a logical approach of general physics.
