Blasting is a great way to remove old paint and rust from parts before powder coating. It not only removes surface contaminates, but also gives the metal a fine texture that allows the powder coating to grip to the metal for an even better strength. We do both sand and plastic media blasting.  Depending upon the job we decide which process will produce the best finish for the least cost. 

If you do your own blasting or have it done before sending the parts to us, please clean the parts before blasting to remove old oil and grease. This oil can be pushed into the surface of the metal and cause adhesion problems. Also after the parts are blasted wear clean gloves to handle the parts - oils from your hands can cause rusting and other problems.  Our price list generally show a blast price. Parts that are not listed are charged an nominal hourly rate, and this can vary depending upon the condition of the part.
