Oversee staff of three editors and four reporters for 8,000-circulation, seven-day morning daily newspaper in central Arkansas. Duties include hiring, training, editorial decisions and direction, writing columns and editorials, editing copy, planning stories and story packages.
In less than two months I have redesigned the Courier and introduced innovative and time-saving ideas for news management. Also redesigned the Malvern Daily Record, a sister paper of smaller circulation. Proposed and developed materials for design and news management consultation within Horizon Publications, the parent group of the Courier, the Daily Record and 16 other daily newspapers.

- Founded, developed, strategized and managed content for the company's only official employee intranet site.
- Redesigned the intranet site twice: once in 1997 and again in late 2000, each time leading to an increase in usage and ease of use.
- Pioneered strategies for putting major company announcements on the intranet site, including major reorganization information, promotion of company-wide initiatives and handling company-wide employee involvement campaigns. Among these strategies were surveying techniques, employee sign-ups for activities and video streaming of major announcements.
- Founded the company's principal Internet site integrating several formerly separate company Web sites to build a unified marketing presence.
- Principal designer and production specialist for the company's monthly news magazine.

Highlights included the institution of Tribune "Today" sections that ran each publishing day (Monday-Saturday) and emphasized a different general subject for each day; editing of copy and layout for special sections and investigative reports. Was a charter member of the Tribune's design desk, which set standards for news layout for the entire paper and pioneered electronic pagination. Also served at different times as wire editor, assistant city editor and assistant features editor. Was principal designer for the Tribune's page 1 for the last year of the paper's life.
